Objectives
#1 Promote Québec To promote Québec is one of the jewels in North America's outdoor crown, with half a million square miles of nature, bigger than even Alaska. And the irony? Most Québécois lives in urban belt along the border with the New England States. Empty is a relative term, though. Where some see nothing, others find a wilderness world of serenity and beauty that's remarkable. In its lakes, streams and rivers, its great mountains and deep forests, Québec North Shore holds the promise of a hundred adventures to be lived. Three quarters of this vast area is empty waiting to be explore by all of you.
#2 Catch and Release & Fish
handling To demonstrate the importance of our fish species with the aide of tools such as catch & release and fish handling techniques, this is very important when angling pressure is increasing and exceeds the supply of fish, catch-and-release fishing is an important means of conserving fish resources. In order for catch-and-release fishing to be an effective management tool, the fish must survive after release. Angling ethics play an important role in the survival of released fish. Be gentle, be quick, and when in doubt, think of the fish first!
#3 An Ethical Modern Approach To help promote a modern approach to flyfishing in general with tested and proven techniques like, targeting, searching and playing fish. Remember the 'fair chase' principle; minimize the time that you play the fish once it is on the hook. Playing a fish to exhaustion may cause it to die later. Use side pressure this will help in bringing in the fish a lot faster. Also use appropriate equipment for the species targeted. |
